Test rides for the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro electric scooters will be offered only on invite-only basis, and will now begin from November 12, 2021.
Ola Electric has announced test rides for its electric scooters, the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro from November 10, 2021, but with a rider. Test rides of the S1 and S1 Pro may not be available in all cities, and only those who have paid an advance for the electric scooters will get to test ride the scooters. Test rides for the S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters will be offered only in four cities for now, which include Delhi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru. So, test rides are still not being offered in all cities where the brand’s electric scooters were offered for booking.

“Test rides starting in select cities from November 10, 2021 and will be rolled out across India in the next few weeks. Find nearest Ola Test ride Camp and book your slots now,” a statement from the company said.
The company has announced that interested buyers will be informed by email and SMS for the scheduled test rides, and delivery status will be updated via the Ola app for those who had done an advance payment for the electric scooters.
“We will be organising test ride camps in major cities. Appointment bookings will start 10th November onwards. There are no charges for a test ride. Don’t forget to carry a valid driving license to take a test ride,” said Ola.
In Delhi, Ola Electric has organised the test rides at Forum (WeWork) in Cyber City, Gurugram. For Kolkata, those interested in taking the test ride needs to go to South City Mall. In Ahmedabad, the test ride has been organised at the Himalaya Mall. For Bengaluru, the test ride location is Prestige Cube Laskar.
Ola Electric has been facing flak on social media both for delay in the deliveries of the electric scooters, as well as customers being unable to test ride the new electric scooters. In September 2021, Ola Electric announced that the company had sold scooters worth ₹ 1,100 crore, and while deliveries were expected to begin in October this year, the company has been postponing the delivery date sighting various challenges. This has agitated customers who still haven’t got a chance to test ride the electric scooter.
On August 15, 2021, Ola Electric launched the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro electric scooters. The base Ola S1 is priced at ₹ 1 lakh (Ex-showroom), while the S1 Pro is priced at ₹ 1.30 lakh (Ex-showroom). Both variants differ in performance, range, number of riding modes, and number of colours, although the basic design is the same.
The S1 Pro gets additional features over the base S1 variant like Voice Control, Hill Hold and Cruise Control. The S1 Pro also has quicker acceleration, more range, and higher top speed. The Ola S1 offers a top speed of 90 kmph with 121 km range and two riding modes, Normal and Sports. The top-spec Ola S1 Pro comes with claimed top speed of 115 kmph with 181 km range, and three riding modes, Normal, Sports and Hyper.
